    Synopsis
    The series follows Eijun Sawamura, a pitcher from the rural Akagi Junior High, who wants nothing more than to have fun playing baseball with his lifelong friends. His simple life is turned upside down when he is scouted by the prestigious Seidou High, which offers him a scholarship and a chance to play in Japan's storied Koushien championship. After deliberating with his friends, he decides to take their offer and move to Tokyo to join Seidou High School's powerhouse baseball team.

    Once there, he realizes that he is no longer the team’s ace player, and he must work extremely hard to prove himself to his senpais.
    Background & Impact
    In 2008, Ace of Diamond won the Shogakukan Manga Award for the shōnen category. In 2010, it won the Kodansha Manga Award for best shōnen manga.

    In 2013, it was adapted into a long-running anime series by Madhouse and Production I.G.
